I’m Dave and I’m one of the founders of Feel Good Drinks. I spent Tuesday afternoon last week volunteering at a London ‘Capital Clean Up’ project.
Capital Clean Up is good stuff. It gets London’s kids interested and active in making the city a smarter place to be and gets them out and about and actually doing stuff. The energy from the project comes from the kids and the schools and in classic ‘does what it says on the tin’ style, the kids, with their volunteer helpers, get out there and ‘clean up the capital’.
Kids from a local school near our office volunteered to help clean up the newly refurbished Grimaldi Park in Islington which looks great after being completely refurbished by the council but which is already suffering from lots of littering.
We spent some fun time in the sunshine picking up every scrap of litter from the place and generally making it look great and a fun and safe place for the younger kids to hang out with friends and run around in the sunshine. Of course the kids all got some delicious cold Feel Good Kids drinks at the end of the day and then ran riot in the place.
Other local businesses were involved too and it was good to get a real sense of community into the project; the police came out in force and got their hands dirty too and proved excellent at supervising games of ‘British Bulldog’ at the end of the afternoon!
It was all good fun, very easy to get involved in, extremely satisfying and had a positive outcome: the park looks great, the Capital is Cleaner. The kids learnt not to drop litter around the place and how much better the world is when you show it some respect. Some delicious drinks were consumed in the sunshine and a good time was had by all.
Cheers, Dave

Last year Yetty spent her feelgoodness days helping out the All About Kids Children’s Country Holidays Fund – (CCHF). During her time helping out, she also attended the charity’s’ 125th Birthday party, getting involved with lots of fun activities which were put on for the children. Click here to read her last blog!
After a busy year, Yetty is going to dedicate some more of her time to something she enjoys; helping out with CCHF this summer! CCHF is dedicated to giving disadvantaged children a range of residential activity and respite breaks. They improve the quality of children’s lives and help them to recognise their potential in a safe and happy environment.
She is getting rather excited about helping the kids with lots of fun activities such as talent shows, camping trips, celebrity challenges, playing games and a lot more!
Watch our feelgoodness day’s blog for all of Yettys feelgoodness day updates over the summer!

By Libby.
These are just a few of the things that we found on our River Thames clean-up day!

Here at Feel Good we all get 5 extra days off a year to do some volunteering if we want to, we call them feelgoodness days.
Yesterday, Olivia, Lyndsey and I went along to a River Clean-up day, organised by charity Thames 21. It took place just under Putney Bridge, on the river foreshore. Basically a team of volunteers pull on their wellies and gloves and clear up all the nasty rubbish that has found it’s way into the river.

It’s a pretty mucky day, but very rewarding to know you’ve done your bit. There are more clean-up days taking place over the weekend, so if anyone wants to get involved, just visit the Thames 21 website.

Earlier on this year I joined a charity group called All About Kids Children’s Country Holidays Fund – (CCHF). June 20th was their 125th Birthday so I volunteered to help out at the children’s party which took place at Stafford House in West Sussex.
The party was full of activities, food, games, face painting all of which was a big success for the children. The Children return back to their parents happy and exhausted after a fun packed day then…..volunteer’s party began.
Theme of the party was Motown so I went as Gladys Knight unfortunately there’s no pictures to show “forget to take my camera”.
It was a great day for the kids and a great night for the volunteers. By the way – A big Thank you to Olivia, Des and Brook for the costume idea, the night was “fabulous” and Thank you Feel Good Drinks for donating some gorgeous Feel Good kids Drinks.

Today is International Volunteers day and to celebrate this, the Feel Good Christmas Elves donned their Santa hats to help out the Friends United Network!!
Friends United Network (FUN) is a charity supporting children with difficult home lives in North London by providing a reliable and trustworthy adult volunteer for each child. FUN volunteers spend a few hours each week with the child they support doing simple activities like playing football, going to the park, visiting a museum or just having a chat in a café. Through these activities volunteers build a one-to-one relationship with the child and help them to build self-confidence and esteem.
FUN are organising a Christmas party for the kids they support and asked us to help by sourcing and wrapping presents to give to the children on the day. So, we spoke to loads of really friendly toy companies to see if they could donate some gifts! (A few free drinks have helped here and there!) After a couple days of sweet talking, we got some fantastic toys from Worlds Apart, Mega Bloks, Fairy Flips, Wicked Vision and Reverb Music! (a HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED SOME GIFTS!!) We then wrapped presents all morning while singing along to a fantastic mix of classic Christmas tracks!
There is quite a bit in the news at the moment about how charities are really struggling as people tighten their purse strings. But another way we can all help charities is with our time. Being given time off from work to help charities out is one of the great things about working here at Feel Good Drinks – we think more companies should do the same and we’re delighted that the news team at London Today think so to. They came down to film us wrapping away, you can catch us on ITV Local news, London today!
We hope all the kids attending the FUN Christmas party have a fantastic time, and that their feel good gifts make Christmas a little more special for them this year.
